To help you following these steps:
Go to this menu:
System -> Hardware -> Storage -> Tape Library
Click on the Toggle Button "Display non-configured libraries"
This action will perform an automatic discovery of all connected Tape Library(ies).
Select the Tape Library you need to configure and filled-in the following columns to complete the setup.
Name
Complete a name
Emulation
Select the supported emulation for your Tape Library
Once done, you can see that the selected Tape Library is now Configure and Ready.
The next step is to configure the associated Tape Drive(s), for this you have to click on the -> icon on the right of the Tape Library.
Click on the Toggle Button "Display non-configured drives".
This action will display all available drives which are not configured:
Select the drives you want to associated with the Tape Library and save the configuration
Once this is performed you can go back to the Tape Library configuration view.
When changes are done in the Tape Library and Tape Drives configuration, it can happened that the devices used by both elements change. In this case it is required to synchronize the devices in both configurations.
In this following screenshot you can see that the used device is /dev/sg8
. If you click on the Discover tapes libraries information toggle, it will start a scan of the connected Tape Library.
This operation can take some secondes or minute depending of the number of size of each Tape Library in number of Tape Drives and Slots.
The same operation can also be performend into the Tape Drives configuration.
In this example you can see in the red square the devices used by each Tape Drives:
When you click on the toggle Display non-configured drives, this will start a scan and automatically do the mapping of the new devices.
Tape Library must be configured to return the 8 characters of the Tapes Barcode, such as: ABC123Lx (x = the LTO version).
Also Tape Barcode has to be unique. Even if multiple Tape Libraries are configured, you are not allowed to use identical barcode in the different Tape Libraries !

Once the operation is finished, it will displayed the updated device, in this example /dev/sg4 and display the to highligh that there is an update. You have to click on this icon to confirm the change(s).
